What is the effect of plasticizers in inks on adhesion?
Inks with too high a plasticizer content or low linker molecular weight may become soft and sticky after drying, and once the ink surface becomes too soft, adhesion can occur. Nitro inks often contain large amounts of plasticizers, and ink formulators must control the ratio of plasticizers to nitro fibers. In addition, the plasticizer content of the ink formulation must be taken into account when selecting a modified resin. In the case of plasticizer-induced binding, a high percentage of plasticizer results in a high degree of solvent retention; the printed ink layer becomes softer and becomes softer with time.
What is the purpose of adding plasticizer to plastic gravure printing ink?
To improve the adhesion between the ink and the film and to reduce the damage of the ink layer by the glue when laminating.
